Our approach to the age-old storage problem
| Over the last year Rob McAlister Ltd has researched a number of possible solutions. We set ourselves the target of accommodating enough space for two full size adult bicycles. We looked into designing a larger plastic garden storage box than is currently available on the market. We found that the costs of plastic injection moulding were prohibitive and that there were a limited number of manufacturers capable of producing the panel sizes required. We also realised that the logistics of transporting the finished product would be difficult for many consumers. For similar reasons we rejected wood, metal and other materials. Having considered many differing shapes and designs, we eventually settled for the simplicity and practicality of what we have now named 'The TidyTent'. | |
